Harold Aspers

Visual artist, Harold Aspers, has an academic degree in architecture. He lived and worked in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and Maastricht where he worked on major public buildings for well known architectural offices. From 2007 on he is more and more focusing on the visual arts. Nowadays he is fulltime working as an artist form his studio in Eindhoven. His works come in series and show a relationship with pop art. The paintings are build up in lots of layers. All these layers, constructed on fabric, are blended, faded and sometimes even disappear almost completely. The layers consist out of colors, texts, pictures, dots, pattern, curls and so on. This formulated visual language is extrapolated and applied to current social issues and themes. From 2008 on his work is shown at different galleries and art fairs. Harold Aspers is now working on series about Natural Beauty…a recurrent theme in his work.
